๐ Tip #6: Invite Them Back and Furry Friends! ๐พ Our community shines during the eclipse. Remind visitors of our charm, hospitality, and natural beauty. Encourage them to plan a return visit, share local favorites, and make them feel always welcome!
๐พ๐ถ๐ฑWhen it comes to our furry friends, remember they haven't been hearing about this celestial event and are very unlikely to look directly at the sun. Eclipse glasses are not necessary for them and can even be dangerous. Dogs and cats may respond in various ways, so be attentive to their behavior and provide comfort as needed. Your pet may exhibit (1) nighttime behavior, and/or (2) anxiety similar to thunderstorms or fireworks. It's a good idea to have your pet's most "comfort inducing" item or treat nearby. Mostly, just be attentive to their behavior.
๐พIf you take your dog outside (or with you away from home) to view the eclipse, be sure to: ๐ถ๐ฑ
1. Watch your dog to make sure he/she isn't staring skyward. Take a chew or favorite toy to serve as a distraction while you take in the minutes wearing your own solar glasses.
2. Make sure your dog is on a leash and is securely fastened.
