Lago Vista residents can schedule Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) pickup right at their doorstep!
This convenient program, provided by HHW Solutions, is included in the $1.10 monthly flat fee on residential utility bills. It’s a great way to safely dispose of hazardous items like paints, batteries, used motor oil, lawn and garden chemicals, and household cleaners, without the hassle of waiting for special events or making a trip.
Key Details:
Pickup Day: Fourth Monday of each month
Scheduling Deadline: No later than the Saturday prior

**Proper Handling Instructions**
-Original Containers: Chemicals must remain in their original, labeled containers (except for used motor oil and cooking oil).
-Spill-Proof Lids: Ensure all containers have secure, spill-proof lids.
-Oil Collection: Store oil in a container with a screw-top lid.
-Box Size: Small items should fit into a box no larger than 20"x14"x14".
-No Unscheduled Items: Items left out without scheduling will not be collected.

Light bulbs (all types)
Household cleaners
Aerosol cans
Automotive fluids and fuels
Lawn and garden products (fertilizers, pesticides, weed killers)
Pool chemicals
Varnishes, stains, turpentine, and strippers
Glues and epoxies
Items Not Accepted:
Asbestos, arsenic, cyanide
Business or commercial waste
Chemicals not in original containers
Explosives
Medical waste, sharps, or infectious waste
Radioactive or nuclear materials
Pharmaceuticals
Propane or butane cylinders
Tires or trash
Unidentified chemicals
