City of Lago Vista Proclaims May 18–24, 2025 as National Public Works Week
At the City Council meeting held on Thursday, May 15, 2025, Mayor Kevin Sullivan and the Lago Vista City Council issued an official proclamation designating the week of May 18–24, 2025 as National Public Works Week in the City of Lago Vista.
This year marks the 65th annual National Public Works Week, sponsored by the American Public Works Association (APWA) and Canadian Public Works Association (CPWA). The observance highlights the critical role that public works professionals play in supporting our community’s infrastructure, public health, safety, and overall quality of life.
Public Works professionals—including engineers, technicians, managers, and operations staff—are responsible for maintaining and improving vital services such as water and wastewater systems, streets and roadways, solid waste collection, and public facilities. Their hard work and dedication help build and maintain a resilient, sustainable community for all.
The City of Lago Vista encourages all residents to take this opportunity to recognize and express appreciation for the important contributions made by the Public Works Department and its team members.
