We are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Our lobby is open on Sunday through Saturday from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. However, the administrative offices and records division are only open Monday through Thursday, from Monday through Thursday from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. If you need assistance on weekends or after hours please call 512-267-7141 to request assistance.

If you have a complaint, you may do the following:
- Come to the Police Department located at 5901 Municipal Complex Way, Lago Vista Texas. and speak with any supervisor.
- Fill out a Complaint Form available in the Police Department lobby or at City Hall.
- Download a Citizen’s Complaint Form (sworn affidavit)
Each complaint will be reviewed and appropriate follow-up actions taken.

To report a pet that has lost its owner, is causing a nuisance, or is being abused, please call 512-267-7141
Locating a Lost Pet
If you have lost your pet, contact Animal Control to see if it has been impounded. You may also contact the Lifelong Friends Shelter on FM 1431.

Copies of traffic accident reports may be ordered is now available through the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) website. They are not available on the Lago Vista Police Department Report Database. Crash reports may also be purchased on the TxDot website.

The Lago Vista Police Department offers fingerprinting services using an ink format provided to the public for professional licenses, employment, and various legal reasons for Lago Vista residents only. No appointment is necessary. For more information on fingerprints.

If you would like our police officers to check on a location, street or area where you believe a continual problem exists, please click on the "Services and Programs" tab and navigate to Close Patrol Request. The sex offender must report in person to the Lago Vista Police Department to register or verify information. Registration is done by appointment only by contacting Officer Sylvia Arnold at 512-267-7141 or by email. Walk-ins are not accepted.

The City of Lago Vista Alarm Permit helps the Police Department know how to contact a residence or commercial business owner in case of an alarm at a residence or business. The City of Lago Vista Code of Ordinances #21-01-07-01 requires all residential and commercial properties with an active security system to obtain an alarm permit. The permit form includes contact information for two authorized people for the police to notify if needed for an alarm permit.

Because of rules and regulations of the National Crime Information Center and the Texas Crime Information Center, it is not possible for our law enforcement agency to release criminal history information to individuals.
In Texas, certain criminal history information is available to individuals from the State of Texas Department of Public Safety. For further information contact the Texas Department of Public Safety by calling (512) 424-2000.

All information about people in jail can be obtained by calling Travis County Central Booking at the information at (512)854-9889 or located on the Travis County Sheriff's Department website. The jail is operated by the Travis County Sheriff's Office.
