Bulk Trash Events
The City of Lago Vista hosts two annual bulk trash events: the Texas Trash-Off in April and the three-day Fall Clean-Up Days event in October. These events are open to all Lago Vista residents with an active City utilities account for water, sewer, and trash services and are organized by the Public Works Streets Department.

Contractor Registration
To ensure development occurs according to the Lago Vista Municipal Code and accepted safety standards, we require that new construction projects and major remodels apply for a permit. As of January 1, 2023 most permits require the applicant to be registered with the City of Lago Vista in accordance with a recently adopted ordinance. The most recent list of registered contractors (updated monthly) and the violation record is available.

Digital Sign Application
The City’s digital sign, located on Lohman's Ford, is a great way to promote upcoming events open to the public. Community organizations can request to display event information on the sign by submitting a Digital Sign Application, providing the content to be displayed and paying the $15 fee.

Fire & Emergency Services
The City of Lago Vista does not operate its own fire department. Instead, fire protection and emergency response services are provided through a partnership with Travis County Emergency Services District #1 (ESD#1). This partnership ensures that residents and businesses receive high-quality fire suppression, rescue, and emergency medical services from a fully staffed and equipped regional team.

GIS Services
The City of Lago Vista’s Geographic Information System (GIS) provides interactive tools and downloadable maps to help residents, businesses, and developers access accurate location-based information. Our GIS services include detailed maps of City boundaries, zoning districts, utility infrastructure, street networks, and other key data. These resources are designed to support informed decision-making and provide easy access to geographic information about our community.

Green Center
The City of Lago Vista provides a number of green services that are available to residential utility customers at no additional cost. On the first Thursday and Saturday of each month, the Green Center serves as a collection center for tree trimmings, grass clippings and brush.

Household Hazardous Waste
The City of Lago Vista partners with HHW Solutions to offer convenient doorstep collection of household hazardous waste. This service, included in the $1.10 monthly fee on residential utility bills, allows residents to safely dispose of items like paints, batteries, used motor oil, lawn and garden products, and household cleaners without waiting for special collection events. Pickup occurs on the fourth Monday of each month and must be scheduled no later than the Saturday prior.

Municipal Court
The Lago Vista Municipal Court of Record, No. 1 has jurisdiction over all matters provided by state law and City ordinances. The Court is dedicated to impartially administering justice in a fair, efficient, and respectful manner to uphold public trust and accountability. The Court provides a variety of services to the public, including the ability to pay citations, access the schedule of court dockets and hearings, and obtain information about defensive driving, community service opportunities, and standing orders. Court staff are available to answer questions, administer oaths and affidavits, certify documents, and maintain official records as authorized by law.

The City of Lago Vista’s Online Payment Portal offers a convenient and secure way to pay for a wide range of services and fees—all in one place. Residents and visitors can use the portal to pay utility bills, court fees and citations, open records requests, pool passes, facility reservations, digital sign requests, event sponsorships and fees, and more.

Open Records Request
The City of Lago Vista uses the NextRequest portal to manage all open records requests. Administered by the City Secretary’s Office, the portal provides a simple and transparent way to submit and track your requests online. Requests must seek records or information that already exist at the time of the request. In accordance with the Texas Public Information Act, the City is not required to create new information, conduct legal research, or answer general questions.

Utility Services
The City of Lago Vista provides essential utility services, including water, wastewater, and trash collection, to our residents and businesses. Our Utility Billing Department is responsible for setting up new accounts, processing payments, managing service requests, and ensuring accurate and timely billing. Customers can conveniently pay their utility bills online, by mail, in person at City Hall, or through the automated phone payment system. The department is also available to answer questions about usage, rates, and service connections to help you manage your account with ease.
