Double LogoOur Story

The City of Lago Vista, a vibrant community nestled in the heart of Texas, was officially incorporated in 1984. Just a year later, on January 16, 1985, the Lago Vista Police Department was established, laying the foundation for a commitment to public safety and community service. Today, the department proudly serves a diverse population of 9,692 residents across an expansive area of over 14.42 square miles.

Growth

In 2012, the department reached a significant milestone with the opening of a state-of-the-art facility located at 5901 Municipal Complex Way. This new police facility was designed to enhance operational efficiency and community engagement. However, even with this modern space, the facility was equipped to accommodate less than half of the department’s personnel at that time, highlighting the ongoing growth and needs of the department.

Today

Today, the Lago Vista Police Department comprises 33 dedicated employees who work tirelessly to ensure the safety and well-being of our community. As we continue to evolve and adapt to the needs of our residents, we remain committed to fostering a safe and welcoming environment for all who call Lago Vista home.
