School Resource Officer Vehicle Design Celebrating Community Spirit

The Lago Vista Police Department unveiled their newest patrol vehicle on 09/13/2024 featuring a design that represents the pride our community feels in our local students, extracurricular activities, and sports teams. In December of 2023, the Lago Vista Independent School District and City of Lago Vista entered into an agreement to provide a School Resource Officer assigned to school campuses in our city. The vehicle will be driven by our department’s School Resource Officer that is assigned to Lago Vista school campuses. The design takes the graphics of our regular patrol vehicles and applies a unique, spirited twist, featuring images iconic with our community’s students, that emphasizes our community’s Viking Pride! 

About the Designer

The graphics for the vehicle were designed by Lago Vista High School Junior Lucy Rees. Rees and other Lago Vista High School art students were challenged to create a design that was consistent with the existing Lago Vista Police Department design while reflecting the spirit of the Vikings! Students submitted designs which were voted on by representatives from the Lago Vista Independent School District and the Lago Vista Police Department. Rees’ design was unanimously selected as the winning design.
